We have contracted with Republic Services for all garbage collection. Trash will be picked up weekly and the weekday is determined by your address. Residential accounts will be billed on their water account every month, and commercial accounts will be billed directly by Republic Services. Please have your garbage on the curb by 6:30 am in the garbage cart(s) provided by Republic Services. If you desire more than one cart or want a dumpster or additional pick up, please contact Republic Services at 254-221-4418 or 254-221-4416. If you have a complaint, please contact Republic Services first and then report it to the City as well with the name of the person you spoke to at Republic Services.
Included in your monthly garbage bill, the landfill offers free dumping to the residents of Alvarado four times per year with a current driver's license matching the required Landfill Pass. This pass can be obtained at City Hall Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Itasca Landfill is located south of Alvarado off of I-35. From I-35 at Highway 67, travel south and exit F.M. 66 (Exit Number 8), turn east and go two miles to first paved road on left. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm; and Saturday, 7 am to 12pm. For additional information, please contact City Hall at 817-790-3351, option 1.
