About the Program

The City of Alvarado is building a centralized volunteer program to connect residents with meaningful service. Roles and shifts will be available after our program kickoff.

Departments & Sample Roles

  • Events: Setup/Tear-Down, Wayfinding, Activities
  • Animal Control: Kennel Support, Enrichment, Adoption/Vaccine Events
  • Parks: Cleanups, Planting Days, Maintenance, Adopt a Park
  • Neighborhood Services: Neighbors Helping Neighbors
  • Library: Shelving, Program/Event Support

When can I sign up?

Do I need a background check?

Yes. We’ll provide more details about this process during onboarding.

Can teens volunteer?

Yes. Many roles are 16+, and some require 18+.

Can groups volunteer together?

Yes—businesses, faith groups, and clubs are welcome.
